Hello,
My name is Art Sauerwein and I am running for Hanover Township Trustee in this November’s election to add a proven successful, business approach, to our townships government. I have been a business owner in our township since the age of 17 when I started Art’s Lawnmower Repair over 30 years ago in McGonigle. I have seen the township grow over the years in a very positive direction, but in these tough economic times, I also am seeing that we need to tighten our belts in order to survive. We must improve our efficiency to save and conserve revenues.
As a successful business owner, I can offer a, no nonsense, common sense approach to the township’s financial planning. I have grown my business from a small local lawnmower shop, to a full service grounds maintenance and landscaping company that services many large accounts in the tri-state area. And although I too have felt the hardships of these recessionary times in my business, my company is still thriving largely due to my foresight, business approach, and by living within my means.

Many families are struggling to survive……they have no choice but to buckle down and make financial concessions to keep afloat…..and our government should be no different, therefore government needs to be able to tighten down the hatch, making do with the monies that are already there, or less.
It is very important to me that our community continues to have exemplary Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services along with well maintained streets. I also want to ensure that our community's growth pattern preserves the rural community atmosphere by good oversight and enforcement of the zoning laws.
